February 2 would have marked the 90th birthday of Evgeny Velikhov, an academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the honorary president of the Kurchatov Institute.
Mr. Velikhov was a key figure in launching the exhibition and conference focused on tapping the oil and gas resources of the Arctic and continental shelf. For many years, he led the Organizing Committee and the Program Committee of the forum, significantly contributing to advancing the project’s scientific and practical value.
Recognizing his scientific leadership in organizing the RAO/CIS Offshore forums and his outstanding achievements—including his role in developing the unique ice-resistant offshore platform Prirazlomnaya for hydrocarbon extraction on the Arctic shelf—the Organizing Committee, represented by its co-chairs:
